Heaving bosoms, panniered skirts, perilous hair and a little Chaka Khan on the harpsichord in this classic drama of sex, betrayal and bad behaviour.

Dangerous Liaisons is famed for its sardonic wit and morally ambiguous depiction of the battle between the sexes. Following the controversial novel by Choderlos de Laclos, Christopher Hampton’s stage adaptation and the cult film Cruel Intentions, acclaimed independent company Little Ones Theatre brought its unique brand of high camp to this lethal drawing room tragi-comedy.

Inspired by Charles Ludlan’s Ridiculous Theatre, Derek Jarman, high-fashion Rococo and the decadent period pieces of Peter Greenaway, this dazzling production was voted one of the best theatre experiences of 2014. Sex, gender and power-play riotously take to the stage in an opulent salon of debauchery.

This lauded MTC Neon Festival production performed a sold out season and was critically acclaimed, making the Best Theatre of 2014 list in the Herald Sun.

Dangerous Liaisons was also the first touring production of a Neon season, making its return as part of the 2015 Darwin International Arts Festival where it played to over 1200 patrons over two performances at the Darwin Entertainment Centre, the Brisbane Powerhouse as part of the 2016 Melt Festival, and the 2016 VCAA Drama Play List at Theatre Works.

★★★★ “So in vogue you can almost smell Madonna”
Herald Sun

★★★★ “An exhilarating sprint… as savage as ever”
Time Out

★★★★ “Delightful, dazzling and decadent.”
Beat Magazine

“One of the most authentic theatre voices around.”
Aussie Theatre

“Dangerous Liaisons has a weighty, fascinating, irresistible nucleus. I dare say Nicolazzo is as fascinated with sex, deception, love and power as any of us. His unique skill is his capacity to allow us to read his manic mind and to see the world through his dusty, pink-tinted glasses.”
The Australian

“More than a triumph of theatre; it is an exciting promise for the future of live performance in this city.”
